Matt Wilson is a leadership coach and change management consultant specialising in the development of leaders and high-performance teams. He coaches and teaches adaptive leadership skills using a psychodynamic approach to identify development opportunities and fortify sustainable leadership skills required for the successful navigation of change.
Matt is a former Military Police Officer and Criminal Barrister and has managed projects across a wide variety of complex domestic and international settings. He has extensive experience coaching emerging leaders in the Defence Force, the Australian Border Force, the construction industry and education sector. He is also a regular presenter at the New South Wales Multi-Agency Leadership Forum. Having worked, lived, studied and travelled extensively in South East Asia, Matt has an excellent professional network and is very comfortable navigating the cultural nuances of that region.
Matt holds a Diploma of Law and Graduate Diploma of International Humanitarian Law from the University of Sydney, Diploma of Defence and Strategic Studies from the University of Malaya and is a Barrister at Law of the Supreme Courts of the Australian Capital Territory, New South Wales and Queensland. He holds professional membership with the Association of Coaches and has recently completed a Master of Consulting and Coaching for Change through the Singapore campus of INSEAD. Matt is currently undertaking postgraduate studies in the Psychology of Coaching at the University of Sydney, and Leadership through Coaching and Mentoring at the Queensland University of Technology.
Matt holds non-executive directorship of a not-for-profit organisation, and in his spare time, he likes to find his flow and keep both wheels of his mountain bike on the ground.
